Join Us. June. 2009. Vancouver, BC

At the former Storyeum Museum in Gastown for a spectacular evening of art and advocacy.

Unite with Art is a series of art auctions to benefit UNICEF's Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS campaign. The inaugural Unite with Art Auction and Gala was held on June 21, 2008 in Vancouver and raised over $276,000 for the campaign.

Each event will showcase high profile regional and national artists in several mediums. The gala events will be comprised of a live and silent auction plus entertainment. Through the generous contribution of artists, galleries and volunteers, Unite with Art aims to donate 100% of the art proceeds to this UNICEF campaign. The event has been designed to bring awareness to this important initiative as well to celebrate the artistic skills and talents of the artists.

This initiative is an urgent response to an epidemic that is the worst our world has ever seen. Through Unite with Art's standards in art and production, we hope to raise awareness about how this disease has needlessly taken, and continues to take, the lives of millions of children. Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS is dedicated to the children and mothers affected by HIV/AIDS, and to the eradication of this pandemic. more

About the Campaign

Over 2.3 million children under the age of 15 live with HIV, mostly due to mother-child transmissions. These children have fallen victim to this pandemic the world over, reaching from sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, Asia, to the Americas. Efforts to expand health care services and prevention measures will enable Unicef UNICEF to achieve a goal that will see a future generation of children living in an AIDS free world.

The Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS campaign's mandate is to fight against this pandemic by supporting, caring, protecting, and supplying treatment to millions of children and adolescents. In the destructive path of this disease, many are still at risk and desperately need the resources to combat HIV/AIDS. To make an impact to ensure that millions more will not be infected and affected by AIDS, the mobilization of international resources must happen. The aim is to halt and begin to reverse the spread of HIV/AIDS by the year 2015.
